Soul Surfer review

Soul Surfer is an inspirational movie based on a true story following a surfer recovering from the loss of her arm. Bethany Hamilton is a teenage girl that has grown up surfing in the oceans of Hawaii. One morning, she was out surfing with her friend Alana, when a shark ripped off Bethany’s arm, causing her to lose a good amount of blood. In the hospital, she almost dies, but miraculously survives. She then struggles with small, everyday things, such as slicing fruit. Determined, she begins surfing again, and discovers her purpose in life as a result. This was a truly inspiring film. I was okay with being one of the only guys in the theater for this one. It’s hard these days to find a good, inspirational movie that doesn’t involve all of the Hollywood crap that you see in every other movie. The acting wasn’t great, but sometimes you have to look beyond the acting, and at the message they’re trying to get across. I especially loved the way Bethany trusted in God to help her through her tough time. This movie is a true example of being able to do all things through God. This movie is definitely a 4 star film.  http://www.soulsurferthemovie.com/
